Sniper Girl went to the toy store and found a pistol she wants! Does anyone know first hand information about the HK P30 in 9mm. It would be used for target and sport shooting.

First hand?

Not so much... I've shot with a few folks that have owned USP's in .45 and 9mm.

However, I am not a big fan of HK for a couple of reasons.

1. Price. They are some of the best $1,000.00 $400.00 guns around.
2. Triggers. All are....challenging, so to speak.
3. Ergonomics. Granted, I don't have huge gorilla hands, however, compared to most hand guns, many of the HK just seem awkward in comparison.
4. Tolerances. For a service gun, their chambers are pretty tight, which has lead to stoppages when using ammo that is just a wee bit out of spec.
5. Parts and support. While most folks own a firearm and leave it as is, I prefer to make it MINE as I know what I like and expect out of a firearm, especially a hand gun. HK just doesn't allow you the same freedom to customize and tweak your gun for YOUR particular needs as do other brands, as there's just not the same access to parts.

I'm a steel gun / manual safety fan, and imo, the CZ 75 is the premiere all steel 9mm out there today. Great price, performance, and excellent ergonomics.

For a poly gun, I'd opt for either Glock, Springer XD, or Smith M&P, depending on which fit the best. All are excellent performers and are used both "on the job" and in competition.

+100 on the XD 9mm. Got the subcomapct and LOVE it. Very comfortable and I find I'm far more accurate with that than with my glock.
