    TASERs for fun and entertainment

Okay, I've never been taser'ed (or received Neuromuscular incapacitation if you don't like the brand) but this is funny. Some guy ran onto field during Phillies game. Security chased him for a bit. Then police officer came on and got tired of the chase. Taser's work. And I laughed as did a lot of the ball players apparently. Gotta like the "Champons" shirt. I don't think he was hurt. Probably less injury than if all those guys jumped on him.

They should make tasering the policy and show everyone who runs on the field.

He shouldn't have ran from the police. If he would have stopped instead of running from the police, he wouldn't have been tased.

Lesson here, don't run from the police. I'd tase you too.

Am I the only one who's noticed that it looks like the guy peed himself? Before he was even tazed! How is it I always miss out on the excitement? I think it would have been funnier if a K-9 had gotten him, but that's just me.

it was interesting, but I can only give him maybe 5 pts for the faceplant.

Would you have agreed with a fist strike to knock the guy down? A tackle driving his face into the ground? How about a baton strike on his leg?

Or, do you think they just should have let him interfere with the game until he ran out of energy? What about others that may be encouraged by the runner to get on the field themselves, just allow it, Wisco?

What is your answer to this, Wisco, based upon your law enforcement experience?

    Amen.

People forget when we get certified to carry a TASER we have to get wacked. We didn't even do anything wrong. It's hell for 5 seconds but when it's over, it's over.

Call me a cynic but I think it's the humaneness of the Taser that pisses leftists off. When police can physically take someone down without injury, their claim of a brutal police state goes out the window. They want to be able to see the results of police contact.

They have wrongfully vilified the taser precisely because it is so effective and so humane, they believe it will be abused because it leaves no injury. This is a case in point: the left thinks this was excessive force when the subject was apprehended after fleeing and resisting with no injury. He walked away. No bruising from a take down. Nothing hurt except his pride.

The other cases are the wild 14 y/o, 110 lbs kids vs a 230lbs police officer. There is no doubt the police officer can take a child like that into custody. But it will hurt. It may bruise and it may break a bone if it turns into a takedown. Not only that, these psycho kids are more than likely to try for the weapons the police carry which will lead to facial bruising and broken noses or worse. They get tased with no injury and the left complains it's excessive force. It's idiotic.

Their logic is twisted and doesn't ultimately serve the people which is to apprehend and arrest with as little injury as possible to all parties.

It's required in PA? I think here it's optional. I think the reasoning is that you have to get OC'd to carry it because you may have to fight through OC spray and you need to see and feel its effects so you know you can do it. This is more important than the discomfort or injury OC may cause.

But your not expected to be able to fight through a Taser deployment (or a baton strike) so you don't need to do it to carry it.

I think it's a good idea for Officers to do it because it takes away the cruelty/excessive force argument from the left (you can describe the amount of force you are applying to get the person to comply through first hand experience and you can testify that it is not excessive and it was necessary) but I also understand that departments may not want to risk even slight injury from spasming muscle.

Taking the ride is optional on my department, but everyone takes it. They would rather withstand the five seconds than the teasing and crap talking they would get for months.

Optional here and I would still rather get shot by a TASER than sprayed. BTW, I love the determination on the face of that Officer. Well placed shot. Harder to do than it looks. He is even using the 25 foot cartridge.

I think they should parody it on SNL.
Of every one hundred men, ten should not even be here. Eighty are nothing but targets. Nine are real fighters, and we are lucky to have them, for they make the battle. Ah, but the One... One of them is a Warrior... He will bring the others back.

    "Wrong door, buddy!"
