    Legal question

Hi, I'm new here, so I hope I'm posting this in the right area. I was wondering if it is legal to sell bottled water, soda, and possibly popsicles at public parks in West Valley City, Utah. I'm going to be contacting the health department next week to ask if a permit is required to sell those items, and I want to make sure it's legal to sell items like that at a public park. My plan is to bring those products in an ice cooler and go around a park trying to sell them. If you don't know, please direct me to where I could find an answer to my question. My apologies if I posted this in the wrong area.

You need to contact that city's park dept and ask them

Probably requires a Park business license to dispense any products for cash.

Also, at least in NY, you need a tax stamp, to show that you collect and then pay sales tax on the items sold.

You'll probably need a business license from the city. In the city I work there are a lot of vendors but there are restrictions as to where they can and can't sell. They can't sell inside a city park, within 100' of a school or church, they can't sell to people in vehicles (due to the traffic safety issues) etc... The best bet is to contact your local PD and whoever issues business licenses at city hall or the county building.
