Arizona Deputy shot because of immagration law

Just minutes ago, a central Arizona cop was shot down by a group of illegal immigrants. As I write this, he still cannot be found, and every second reduces his chance of survival. Turn CNN on if you don't believe me. He was shot in the stomach by a suspected group of Mexican immigrants.

We can only hope he is OK, and the man who did this is caught and sent to prison. I don't understand why shoot him. He has nothing to do with this law, it's not his decision.

AZ Central is reporting the following:

A Pinal County Sheriff's deputy was shot in the stomach Friday after a traffic stop on Interstate 8, according sheriff's officials.

Authorities said the deputy radioed into dispatch that he was shot by a suspected undocumented immigrant. At least two suspects were being sought.

Deputies were also searching for the deputy. His condition is unknown.

The deputy apparently pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 8 near Arizona 84 -- roughly 70 miles south of the central Phoenix -- at about 4:30 p.m. Friday.

When the deputy approached the vehicle, he was shot in the stomach, said Lt. Tamatha Villar, spokesperson for the Pinal County Sheriff's Office. The deputy said one of the suspects was armed with an AK-47 rifle.

No further details were immediately available.

New info from Lt. Villar (PCSO spokesperson) is that the deputy attempted to stop a number of people on foot in the area when he took fire from an AK. They've located and exfil'd him to the hospital. The hunt is on for 5 suspects carrying marijuana, 2 AK's and possibly a handgun. National Guard Blackhawk helicopter is assisting and NG Special Forces are on the ground assisting in tracking the suspects.

They're not getting anywhere. If you have helicopters and an entire department looking for you, You're lucky to get away for a few hours. I'm interested to know when they are caught if any of them were under the influence of any drugs.

(CNN) -- A sheriff's deputy in central Arizona was shot Friday afternoon by an alleged illegal immigrant, authorities said.

The report came from a KPNX reporter on board a chopper at the scene.

The Pinal County deputy, who was not immediately identified, contacted authorities after being wounded in a remote area, said Lt. Tammy Villar, a sheriff's spokeswoman. She said authorities believe he was shot with an AK-47.

Villar told CNN affiliate KNXV that authorities lost radio contact with the deputy and began a search for him and the shooter. The deputy was later found.

Pinal County is between Phoenix and Tucson and has been described as a key transit point for illegal immigrants. Sheriff Paul Babeu said an estimated 80 percent of illegal immigrants pass through his county on the way to other locations.

Deputies in the department routinely patrol for illegal immigrants and smugglers, and it is not uncommon for them to be in the field alone, officials said. It was not immediately clear what led the deputy to engage with the shooter Friday.

Damn, Fox News is saying the deputy was shot in the abdomen. That's not good unless they get him into surgery immediately.

I'm okay, I had just gotten off shift when one of our deputies was shot by illegal aliens in the smuggling corridor I have already spoken of. He was shot with an AK-47 type weapon. The deputy has been airlifted out and is able to speak. It sounds like a round may have gone through his vest into his abdomen/kidney area.

They have several birds in the air with six different SWAT teams setting up a perimeter. I tried to go in, but they told everyone else to stand down.

I'll let you know when I find out more that I can talk about.

Thanks for the update. Actually, I change my mind about them getting caught. It's Arizona, there are hundreds of Latino gang members walking around with AK47's with bags of marijuana at any given time.
