    New Car

Earlier last week, I got a phone call from fleet to come pick up a new car.

Traded in my 2007 Impala with 85,000 or so miles on it, for a 2010 Impala with 137 miles on it. The 2007's were the first large batch of Impala's bought by my agency, so they weren't really outfitted well.

The 2010's are a bit roomier inside and our Fleet done an outstanding job of outfitting them with Equipment. Got a center console, Rifle Rack in the Trunk, Shotgun rack in the cab, better lights and siren package, and a sturdy laptop stand. Chevy done a good job on the overall interior Design. Front seats are a disappoinment though. Still cloth and will probably start getting worn out in the first year or so.

All in all, not too bad.

I took it up today and had the windows tinted in it at the local Custom's Shop. Dark as legally allowed. Rides nice, and stays decently cool in there now

I've had a car, actually SUV's for the past 17 years. We are going green, so most of the big cars have been switched out to more ECO friendly models. March '09 I got a metalic black Malibu Hybrid, which is quite a nice car. The shop did a nice job with the lights, siren and install of 2 radios. Already have 19k + miles with only one minor recall. We were told last week that our detective cars will prolly be switched out next year with the new Chevy 9C3unmarked Caprices. Last month the shop had a show and tell by both Ford and Chevy and it appears the Chevy's won.

We'll be going to Caprices as well next year. Kinda hoped to hang onto my old car for another year till we get them. But, I'm always happy with a new car.
