What were you trying to prove??

Thought I would put this news story up. Wonder if she regrets this yet. I'm not an officer so I won't comment on what charges she should/should not be getting. Although I will say she should be charged with something.

The end of the article says that there has been debate on calling the milk a "bio-hazard." I would have to say under the circumstances that since its "your milk and it hit me....yes - its a bio-hazard."

Woman Charged for Squirting Breast Milk at Deputy - Incredible Health - FOXNews.com

A Kentucky woman was charged with assault after she allegedly squirted breast milk into the face of a deputy, sparking online debate Sunday in the local media.

Toni Tramel, 31, was arrested Thursday for public intoxication in Owensboro, WYMT-TV reported, but it is what she did next which has attracted headlines.

As Tramel changed into an inmate uniform, she squirted a stream of breast milk into the face of the female deputy watching over her.

A press release from the Daviess County, Kentucky, Detention Center, said that after the deputy decontaminated herself from the "bio-hazard", Tramel was charged with third degree assault.

While the public drunkenness was merely a misdemeanor offense, the assault is a felony charge and a US$10,000 bond was set.

Reports of the case have sparked debates about whether using breast milk as a weapon should constitute a felony assault case, with many readers likening it to an accused person spitting on an officer.

Also sparking feedback has been the use of the term "bio-hazard" to describe breast milk.

More like being put in contact with their blood. Breast milk is an HIV and Hepatitis pathway.

If the milk got in her mouth or open cut, the officer will now be tested for all the diseases and told to avoid activities which may expose her family to these diseases for quite a long period of time if they follow the same protocol as they do for needle sticks. Nice choices. Should be a felony. And if she has any of those diseases, it should as strong as the outcome of the disease.

It's the same as if a junkie had tried to stick her with a dirty needle.

Not sure why their is debate about it being a bio-hazard unless the "no" crowd is mentally challenged. Blood is a bio-hazard. We also donate it and use it for good every day. Doesn't mean we don't put needles used to collect it in those red "bio-hazard" buckets or dispose of it as a bio-hazard. Heck, blood is even more precious than milk as a human generated fluid. I can get baby formula at the store. But if I need a blood transfusion there is only one source and that's a person. Not sure why anyone would get upset that a disease carrying fluid generated by people would be termed a biohazard.

Hmm. I would have been tempted to return fire with some of my bodily fluids.

Seriously, though...I support this charge. I think the spirit of the law has a lot of emphasis on intent and the manner in which she showered the deputy was intended as an attack. Respect to those deputies in the jails. They don't get paid nearly enough for the clientele that gets dropped off there!

Breast milk? That's just nasty. I would have preferred the spit in the face. At least then maybe if she was riddled with diseases, some of them might not make into me.

I heard about that on the radio. Makes sense that a bodily fluid is a bio hazard, and the girl obviosly meant to do it. It would be a lot funnier if it was an accidental discharge.

Gross. 100% support the charge; bodily fluids are bodily fluids.
