Not bad, since I'm re-writing old, writing new, and retructuring policy for the department.

How tough is the approval process? I wrote a couple of general orders over the years and it was a pain. Every dweeb and drone in the dept. had to approve it.:wtf:

I got run over on my bike my a Caddy, and all I got was 20 staples and shoulder surgery. I doubt a couple fists would do near as much.:moderator:

It's similar here. There are all kinds of forms to get the process going and approved, then checked in my office before going out to about 75 people for review and comment, thean all their comments must be addressed even if they are rediculous, and then the G.O. or program is revised and goes through the process again. I have stuff on my desk that's been going since 2005.

But I've tried this new thing. I go to people's offices or, if not in the building, call themm direct for answers. So the feedback process is a bit quicker. I have no doubt I'm gonna hit all kinds of walls, but I just plan to keep slinging things at people and showing up at their offices till I get things through.

Good idea. A lot of those people are like Internet heroes, not particularly brave or even as determined in face to face encounters.

I hope it works out for you. My experience has been that people like you wear out their welcome in those positions rather quickly because you don't sing the departmental song as you ride in the elevator. People that actually know what they're doing and trying to make a real difference just don't fit in to the bureaucracy. Every cop working in our planning and research were losers on the street and put there to bury them.

Yep...its happeneing. CoC's becoming more and more like a middle manager. First goes the spelling, then the comprehension, and then the urge to be right everytime.

And btw....I can already take on CoC, Sarge, and Switch at once. :D :D
