I've got you all beat! I was 20 yrs old when I was sworn in:D. Been in two years now. In NC you can be a police officer at 20 yrs old and a deputy sheriff at 21. I worked at a PD for a year til I turned 21 then went to the Sheriffs Office

I was 39 and retired from the Marine Corps after a glorious 21 year career. Got sworn in at my first department 2 days before my 40th birthday. Got sworn in at my current department at 42!

Started the Academy at 19, paid my way through it without a department. Got a job shortly after and was sworn in 8 months after turning 20. I was a sworn LEO and could carry my firearm anywhere in the country. I just had to have my dad buy my bullets for target practice until I turned 21.
