It's Today!!

Yep, I start my training at my new agency this morning (I'm writing this about 1am on Monday morning). I'm still up getting stuff done from this weekend, so I'm hoping I'm not too dang exhausted for my first day. Gonna need LOTS of coffee!! LOL

So many questions, but probably won't even get a chance to ask them all. Already been through HR and Benefits, and had the green uniforms fitted (just waiting for them to come in now), so I don't know what today will be all about, but I'm excited for and really looking forward to it!

Hopefully I'll be able to lay down and catch at least a couple Z's before I have to be in this morning. Start at 0900, but I plan on being there early, say 0830 or 0840. So, shouldn't be too bad if I can get my head on a pillow within the next 30 minutes or so.

I'll come back and let everyone know how it went!

Oh, and of all the things I'm glad for about this day, one of the biggest is that I won't see Star there! LOL (The old guys will know what I'm talking about...)

P.S. If you've been following the double murders in the Florida Panhandle, that's my new agency, and Sheriff Morgan is my new boss!

Congrats! All I wanted to do growing up was to be an Aviator in the Air Force. My buddy was joining the Corps. He told me to come along with him. I told him he is out of his doggone mind but I relented and visited the recruiter with no intention of joining. Sheesh. Not only did I join but not even close to the air wing. I ended up in the infantry.

I got picked up by my local county Sheriff's department, Escambia County Florida. It's the county where the Billings double murder happened a couple weeks ago.

I have never tried to go federal. Too tired of moving after 21+ years in the Corps. But I have been trying to get on over here for over 2 years now! Been working at a small college department, which was great, but the pay -- not so much. This is going to be over a 50% pay raise for me! :D
