I just took the test for Pa State Parole Agent I. The civil service website says they expect 75 openings this year.
I hope I did good on the test, it looks like a very interesting career.

A former classmate of mine at the Academy was a former PA State Parole officer. He enjoyed the work and the benefits a lot, including a take home car and the ability to make your own hours. And he said the work was pretty good too.
Good luck!
The most important thing in conversation is to hear what isn't being said.
Hello all, I have been reading all of the post on this site and most of the dates are pretty old...I hope that I am able to get a response to my question if anyone is out there. I am a 30 year old female with a great job (not in law enforcement) but I am very unhappy. I would love to be a part of law enforcement but during my search for more information I see that most people doing the searching are right out of high School and College. Am I too old to want to start a career in law enforcement?
ok thanks for responding, like I said I am new so I was unsure if I could even create a new thread, but I will. Thanks again!
Greetings!
Like yourself, I have taken the test and passed. Received availability surveys and returned them, one in mid-late Feb, the other, early April. Haven't heard anything as of late. I do know that they survey veterans first, then take it from there. I wasn't really surprised at the number of people who have taken the exam though, given the economy and all.
Have you heard anything yet?

I've received five different requests for interview availability.
I have an interview tomorrow and I am excited about it!
The LEOs I've talked to said they all think this is a very good job.
Congrats on getting an interview! I hope that it goes well. Let me know how it went.
From what I gathered, these positions are highly competitive. Getting an interview is a huge accomplishment.
JD
The interview went well, they asked a set of questions which every candidate answers. They asked me a couple which I wasn't ready for but I think I did pretty good with my answers.
I have another interview for the same Parole Agent position in a different county next week. I could end up getting multiple interviews in 10 diferent counties.
Glad your interview went well. Standard interview questions, I would assume?
Got my interview this week, received the call last week. I will let you know how it went.

I have another interview this week in Mercer County. woo hoo!!!![]()
I had my interview and I think it went well. Got some good info from them that answered alot of my own questions. Did I hear them correctly when they said you need to live within the servicing area?
I have another interview scheduled for next week, so I know now what to expect!!!
Good luck on your interview!

I notice this thread is about a year old so I'm hoping someone is still watching.. I recently got my score for the parole agent I position, and I'm interested in knowing if anyone has gone through the process all the way up to getting a position, ie; how long after test did you receive the survey, how long after survey did you receive an interview, how long after interview did you receive a position? Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thank you! P.s. I am a veteran and received my vet pref, does this help? Thanks again.
I didn't get a position with them.
