Was that the Chief reassuring the officer on the scene in the middle of the video?
If so, from the officer's body language--nodding, moving the shoulders and swallowing hard, if I'm not reading too much into things--it appears to be a guy just doing what he had to do.

It appears that the officers were fairly young and it looks like he was pretty shaken up.
This guy had been running around the neighborhood threatening people with the knife. I don't ever understand why the family members in these situations throw such a fit. I'm sorry their family member acted out in such a bizarre way, but if the officer wouldn't have hit him with the car, I guarantee the next thing that would have happened would have been several .40 cal rounds pumped in him.Excuse me Officer, I have a stupid Question. Who cares if it was a .40 caliber or patrol vehicle? We have used our cars on several people throughout my career. Why stop, get out and try to aim your duty weapon and put yourself in more danger if you can take him out with the cruiser?This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
