Orlando police trafic stop in the news

This is a traffic stop that happend LAST OCTOBER, and its making the news now saying they were to aggressive. The video doesn't show the whole deal, but from what it looks like to my untrained Eye the cop did nothing wrong other then his mouth got a little carried away. The Orlando police chief basically said the same thing.

Just interested in what others think of it:

Exactly, the video doesn't show the whole deal; it only shows what happened from the time another officer pulled up behind him (since the one in question pulled in front). I'm surprised at the suspension for profanity considering all the videos they air on Cops, etc. that I've seen the cops swearing. But I think it is pretty clear just from what came out of the other guy's mouth that he had his head up his a$$. How many times did he admit to being on the phone, lighting a cigarette, and not having seen the cop pull in front of him?

When I worked for the state of FL (non law enforcement) That was a standard for Cursing at anyone like that, if reported. I don't know OPD's policy but when one of my co-workers got suspended for cursing at a citizen he got a 3 day paid suspension.

Hm. I don't know as I don't yet work for a PD. I imagine they would have standards as you can't just swear at every person you're stopping. I'm just saying I've seen a lot of those videos where they're bleeping out f***. Then again, he was calling the guy a mother****er, not just saying f***, so there's a difference there.

Sometimes you have to be "bilingual" and speak a language they understand.

BG's and wanna-be BG's will often perceive polite professionalism as weakness, causing you more problems. You crawl right up their ***, and they decide it is better to cooperate.

Problem is knowing when to do it and when not to. You learn, after some experience.

I just shook my head and smirked when I read the whimpy media descriptor of "shocking and outrageous."

These panty wads haven't seen anything real world. Just another arrest of a guy who was getting ready to run until the other patrol car pulled in front of him at the light.

I was expecting to see the window shatter out from a well applied expandable strike. Oh well.
