    Las Vegas LE Question

I'd like to verify a statement made by a LV explorer during a discussion on stopping to provide medical aid off-duty.

Apparently, the LV explorer had a legal obligation to stop and render aide AND identify herself (to the public) as an explorer. Due to a "scope" database that includes LE and explorers, when PD arrives and ID's everyone, her affiliation would pop up and she would be in trouble for not ID'ing.

Is that statement valid, an exaggeration, flat out wrong?

    Thanks for the help.

    Flat out wrong.

Someone doesn't know their roll. I HIGHLY doubt they would allow their explorers to do that.

Nobody has legal obligation to stop off duty I believe, EMT, Firefighter, Police Officer (Unless your department mandates it-take home car etc)

Legal obligation would maybe say a LEO. But shes not a LEO. Not even kind of. Shes a civilian. No different then Joe Blow

Either way, she was full of it. If I am wrong, I would be VERY surprised.

    My general thoughts, too.

I wanted to confirm on the off-chance that she's in one of the states requiring any civilian bystander to render aid. Combine that with a departmental policy where volunteers are to ID themselves to responding officers, and she might through combination of circumstances be technically (or exaggeratedly) telling a partial truth.

So, wanted to have my facts straight before calling her out in front of others.
