From what I've watched on local news, he is expected to be alright. He was knocked unconscious after pushing the other people aside to avoid being hit.
Just a reminder to be safe out there and be alert

WTF was that driver thinking?
What the hell!!!!!! Probably someone on their cell phone. Were the officer's lights on? The cars should have been in the left lane.
You should know by now that most people are not thinking when driving... The person was probably so interested in the accident, they steered towards it instead of bypassing it.
It never ceases to astound me with the amount of accidents that happen out here in AZ. I believe the number of dumb accidents to total drivers on the road is far higher than would occur in New Jersey/New York where I grew up.
Just glad the officer was not seriously hurt...

Here's a quote from the Detroit News regarding it...
The original accident he was investigating was "a possible drunk driving", gotta wonder if the added car wasn't too, pretty bad for 3:35 in the afternoon.Witnesses said the suspect was traveling in the left lane of westbound I-94 when he lost control of his vehicle, according to police. The suspect then crossed over three lanes of the freeway onto the embankment and struck the officer.
The officer was the only person injured in the accident and was taken to St. John's Hospital, where he remains for treatment.
