The annual trip for Michigan's West Bloomfield High physics students was cut short Wednesday when the student complained of sickness and was taken to a medical facility at the park in Sandusky, Ohio, said Joey Spano of the school district.
The boy later admitted to having eaten a pot brownie.
Cedar Point officials contacted a school representative as well as the park police. Police wrote a report, but no criminal charges were filed, park spokeswoman Robin Innes said Thursday.
While administrators believe there were only a few students involved, they decided it was best to bring everyone home early.
"We're saddened that some students acted inappropriately, and we'll deal with it according to our school policy," Spano said.
School administrators were interviewing students and conducting an investigation, she said, adding the police liaison officer probably would be involved.
West Bloomfield Township police said they didn't have a report on the issue.
The high school is located about 25 miles northwest of Detroit.
