    Bottled water...

The sales and cost of bottled water is sky rocketing and in my area most grocery stores have 1 or 2 aisles with nothing but bottled water. Some of these imported brands cost a dollar or more for less than a quart of water.
However, there's no need to buy bottled water in my county, as for the past 10 years it has been given an award for surpassing federal standards and having one of the top 4 best water systems in the nation, for having the safest drinking water... (I just read this in the morning paper and saw where they've won again.)
The sparkling, crystal clear, tap water that comes out of our spigots probably tastes better, is cleaner and safer to drink than the most costly domestic or imported bottled water.
But, I'll be danged if I can convince my wife of this, as she insists on drinking nothing but bottled water.

Hehe, I understand your pain. My mother is like that to.

As an aside in March and early April, I spent two weeks on a dedicated 'bottled water' run and helped expand it's capacity to. We ran for Deer Park water (owned by Nestle waters), we ran water from a spring near Tallahassee to it's bottling plant in Lee, FL. Had to use their trailers and do all the chemical tests on the water ourselves before they'd let us pump it into their tanks. The plant gives out bottles in their break room and if your lucky you can even pick up a trunk full of bottled watter cases sometimes.

I can't drink the water where I am at. It is the most disgusting, awful thing in the world. Even lifelong residents hate it. Same thing with well water. I get sicker then a dog if I drink it for some reason...

I agree that bottled water is a waste. I drink filtered tap water. If I need to bring water with me, I refill an old plastic bottle with filtered tap water.

I don't even filter the tap water here. Baltimore is supposed to have some of the best-tasting water in the country, they say.

I'd agree, it's pretty good. Not too crunchy, not too chewy. Just the right consistency, and pretty much "al dente."

Now, I HAVE had well water from Michigan that made me nearly puke. OH. MY. GOD. And forget lathering up in the shower. The water was so hard, soap just kinda caked on and stayed there. If you happened to get caught out in a rainstorm, you'd start to suds up on any exposed skin.

My wife used to tell me she hated tap water and would only drink bottled. She'd open up a bottle, drink a little and put it in the fridge.

I got wise to it and started filling up her bottled water with tap water, she never noticed.

With all that money I've been saving from not buying bottled water, I'll throw in two boxes of ammo. ;)

Since many bottled water brands come from springs around here, and I have a crystal clear well, I don't even bother filtering it. Maybe I should start my own brand :D

I should say it's kind of hit or miss, my old house was a mile away, had a drilled well instead of a hand dug one (suppposedly better), and had terrible rusty water. The bathroom had tan colored bathroom fixtures so they looked clean longer
    Always we begin again.

The tap water around here (Bronx) strikes me as cleaner than the water I was getting in Manhattan, which appeared to have sulfur in it! I've been drink tap water, nonetheless, for years - and my skin is easily irritated, but that seems to be the only price I've paid - so far:rolleyes:

Well if you've been saving that much money I want one of those new Ruger .380s Norm posted about a few weeks back or one of those Smith Air Weight snubbies. :D:D

When I lived in Germany I was able to buy a case of Evian water for less than what they want for a bottle over here. Same went for wine.
