A recent poster made the claim:

I have the right to be pissed off on how they drive, maybe you all would understand more if you actually had a CDL then just maybe you would think more on how everyone drives around you, cops too.

Stopped a guy yesterday for blowing a stop sign. He had a valid CDL. Just thought I'd share. :p

I wrote a 43/25 ticket to a guy who had a CDL on sunday. I know lots of folks who have CDL's, they know not to **** around in my city. Having a CDL is a big deal and they need to be better. I will cut them NO slack.

Also, we have a few in my department who have CDL's so they can move some of our equipment. Simply a JSYK.

I am pretty sure his truck is held together with bailing wire and chewing gum. I know his shifter is held together with some clamping pliers... :rolleyes:... he drives for Piggly Wiggly...

Of the 140 Comm Vehicles my partner and I inspected last year...we took 70 of them off of the road for being unsafe. Mainly for air brake system violations.

You drive a big truck in my neck of the woods, make sure it is in good shape and that you have your stuff together.

The Pig is still going strong, but they did reduce some stores in the last few years, here... which is where they started.

My Bro-in-law was driving for them for less than 3 years before he made more money than I, a Cop for 15 at the time.

CDL drivers are being popped on a regular basis by our Commercial Carrier Squad, and it is not just for criminal speed, aggressive driving, bald tires, faulty equipment, etc.

Try arrest warrants, DUI alcohol, DUI drugs, and narcotic possession on for size.

If this person thinks possessing a CDL makes him/her God's Gift to motoring skills, they need to wake up and smell the coffee.

There you go again Doc! I was fixing to say, What the hell makes them any better driver than anyone else. They should be recognized as more qualified and more courteous, but that would not reveal them as they really are...;)
