Last night I had my first ride along, it was more than what I hoped it would be. The officers we so nice and everyone kept asking if I had any more questions! The officer I rode with, took time to show me everything. When he made a stop, he explained the situation and ask me how I would have handled it. We even went and watched the K-9 unit in training. I didn't realize that most of those bites they can feel. The main purpose though of me posting was to say that I have always had lots of respect for law enforcement, after last night, it grew in so many aspects. If everyone could actually experience a ride along, I know that would have so much respect for what each and everyone of you do. This whole experience made me even more anxious to graduate and start my career!

Most departments, and officers are more than willing and friendly to ride alongs. Its meant to be both an eye opener and a learning experience.
