Chief of Police just went home for lunch

So they get me out of bed to come in and arrest
someone who showed up at the front counter about
their warrant.
The kicker is it was a freaking OR bond. When the
paperwork is done, they walk...............

A few buddies of mine have that happen all the time. I feel kinda bad for them, but when there's less than 5 LEO's it'll happen.

Cel, my chief sometimes goes out and patrols. But really it's only to remind us he's still a cop to and will get down and dirty with us. A few months ago, at an accident scene, he made one of the junior officers go back on patrol while he directed the traffic. My chief rules!

That is the type of chief I want to work for!!!!!!! Our LT is that way, he is a worker bee, it is great, I love people who lead by example!

We have about 2500 people in my town and thats including the college campus lol. Not only does our Chief patrol, but usually hes on days all by himself. Well hey, we only have 4 full time LEOs and 4 part time LEOs (part time work the weekend shifts) :D

That sounds like the town I applied to and should know from in the next couple weeks on wether I am moving on in their process!!!!! I applied as PT because I am still going to school. The PT guys get the 2nd and 3rd shift weekend shifts, but that doesn't bother me, I love working nights!!!!

Small town in PA I grew up in had 2 cops. When they weren't on the state police handled any calls.

My dad is an officer at a town with 4 full timers and a handful of part timers

If I come in off duty I get a min of 2 hrs OT. Or 3 hrs of comp leave, my choice.

I was in school all day yestreday when the LT called me and asked if I would work 6p-6a overnight. I said 6p-3a but no more, 17 hrs in a day is enough.

I work in a city of 6k in 6 sq. miles. I had a call of a welfare check on a 91 yo male. After some checking around I find him in a nursing home after falling ill a week before. I found his house unsecured as all the doors were unlocked. I went to talk to him and ask about his house being unsecured. He was in very bad shape and wasn't coherent enough to converse with. I had a feeling he wouldn't make it long.

I went back to his residence and secured all the doors and windows. I contacted a nearest relative (in NY) and let them know I secured the house just in case someone comes down to check on things.


Would an Officer in a bigger, busier jurisdiction go to these lengths just to check an unsecured residence?
