Just wondering if anyone has ever ran across this in the field?

Yes, minor issue of speeding while en route to Legislative Session. No biggie.
Have not run across any serious issues, though.
This career is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
All the time. Of course we don't arrest them then they yell it out like in TV but we have A1 diplomats cross the border every day and you learn to see that A1 and just stop everything you were getting ready to say and go "nice day out isn't it. Have a great day sir/ma'am"

Rest in peace.
Not too much....however there are quite a few in LA. Central and Wilshire Division mostly.
I haven't had any direct contact yet, but I'm sure I will one day.

In the DC area....DAILY occurrence.
So when you come across a person with diplomatic immunity, do you ever have any problems with them?
If you stop them for a traffic violation, such as speeding, red light, stop sign etc, you can issue them a citation right? I checked on wikipedia and it had a chart on there saying you can, but not sure how accurate it is.
I know they have a small card, about the size of a drivers license, with all the information. Unless they have changed that too.
I doubt theres an entire FTO phase Cat, theres probably a whole sperate FTO program :p
I would think in NY you would run into that a lot too.
Diplomatic immunity means that no matter what they did, they are released immediately. They do not get traffic tickets at all. I don't summons most regular people, why would I write a diplomat? If there is any question as to whether or not they're legit, then we have policies in place to verify, and once we verify their status, they are immediately released.

Maybe Magicman will read this thread and pipe in but he pulled over a Somalian taxi cab driver once who claimed to have diplomatic immunity. I don't think that worked for him though.![]()

Only once, I arrested him anyway and seized his car. I let him try and explain the cooking rig in his trunk to the judge.
He was some student from the Dominican Republic.
I HAVE arrested a state legislator for prostitution and UCW, he tried to pull that "When congress is in session" nonsense. That REALLY pissed the judge off. ;)
Don't try and outweird me, I find weirder things than you in my breakfast burrito.
