    Trooper needs your support

I do not know how many of you are aware of this particular case but it'd a damn shame the Prosecutors office is going after him for the tragic deaths.
I worked a similar case in my towns where an on duty school bus driver ran a red light and killed a man. Her punishment? Reckless driving and her drivers license suspended for a few months. In my opinion, the only reason the Prosecutors office is going after him is because he is a cop.
“He who does not prevent a crime when he can, encourages it.”

Wow. That will really improve relations between the county law enforecement agencies and the DAs office.

If DAs weren't elected to office and were instead appointed to their positions, I wonder how many of these incidents would be prosecuted? I'm really curious to know what elevated this case from manslaughter to homicide.

I hope the attorney for the trooper is at least able to get the charge knocked down.

Terrible case all the way around.

    From the article,

Reached later by telephone, Subin said Higbee had clocked a car doing 65 mph in a 35-mph zone and was trying to "close the distance" with that car, but did not use lights or sirens because state guidelines called for him to wait until he was close enough to identify and safely pull over the violator.
Sounds like the officer has some legal ground to stand on.

Yeah, but I think we have a responsiblity to the public to ensure their safety while trying to catch a speeder....

I think this charge is a little much, in fact alot... I can think of many punishments to the trooper but not like this..
