    City suspends K-9 Program

    http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbc...NEWS/802130365

    Unbelievable:mad:

Yet another politician gives into a vocal race-baiter.

That city really is the sixth borough of NYC

    Race Baiters, Check

    Civilian Review Boards, Check
    Spineless Politicians, Check
    Liberal Media, Check

The only thing left is Compstat and Impact foot posts

However, it is refreshing to see the usual liberal bloggers at the bottom of the page supporting the PD.

BTW, the newspaper is guilty in this too, they put her "story" on the FRONT PAGE, whereas other stories about K-9 deployment get put on page 9 or 10.

Race-baiter? I saw nothing suggestive of racial overtures in the article:

NEWBURGH — The City of Newburgh has pulled its police canine unit off the streets while it reviews the unit's policies and procedures.

The move follows the arrest of a 23-year-old in an East End neighborhood. City Officer Robert Vasta released a dog on 23-year-old Tiffany Lewis while she fought with another woman on Jan. 30 in front of 14 City Terrace. Under pressure from the City Council, the police department reassigned Vasta and is conducting an internal investigation. Nearly 20 people spoke out about the use of the dog during Monday night's council meeting, some holding pictures of Lewis' injured arm. City Manager Jean-Ann McGrane said there had been discussion of suspending the canine unit for review before the meeting, and she later decided to keep all four dogs off the street while they addressed resident's concerns.

That race baiter comment referred to general attitudes in that city, and other incidents within the last couple of years, not specifically that incident. ALTHOUGH, the newspaper has a history of racially biased reporting against LE in that area.

It's a Newburgh thing. We just started working with those guys on the task force. Great cops, but a strange, strange town.

That city is a tough city to work in as a cop. To say relations between the department and the community are strained would be the understatement of the year.
