What is the name of the graduation march? Please :)

Okay, I haven't been around for a while, but will try to catch up soon. I am graduating from the Academy tomorrow and just found out that our coordinator forgot to get a copy of the song that we march into the auditorium.
I'm trying to find it on iTunes, but I can't figure out which song it is, all the bag pipe songs sound very similar. Can someone help a lowly little cadet out?

I've come up with Reveille by the Gordon Highlanders and the Regimental March by Standard Pipes and Drums of Scotland.

RealPolice as always come through for me in the past, I'm hoping someone can help me out again:D

    Thanks for any help

I was going to suggest Pomp and Circumstance as well. I got to play the french horn part for high school graduation a couple of years, it was fun.

One I like that's sometimes used as an alternative to Pomp and Circumstance is "Crown Imperial," by William Walton.

I don't know that Crown Imperial would lend itself to pipes, however.

Thank you for the suggestions. I asked my RTO's at our dinner tonight and they just called it the march song. I did a more indepth google search and found it It is called Scotland the Brave, I have no idea who wrote it.

I've been in charge of planning the reception and a lot of the graduation, I cannot wait until it is over!

    Thanks again

I don't know how you got the 2006 tune and turned it into 'the graduation march' but have fun.

I mean, we're getting killed for these people and they don't even appreciate it. They think it's a big joke.

It may be too late to point this out, but...

Many, many recorded bagpipe tunes start off a) "by the rolls," that is, with two drum rolls before the melody starts, b) with a second or two of the drones by themselves, or c) a combination of both.

If you plan on playing the tune for a large graduation, make sure your recording is quite long enough for the entire procession. Otherwise, you run the risk of the recording looping, and starting over with the above mentioned sounds interrupting the natural flow of the song. Or, you can get a real pipe band to come in. :D

Just something to keep in mind. Congrats, and good luck!

Thanks for the tip, we are a small class, so I wasn't worried about the song running out and real bag pipes were definately out of our price range.

I had the song all cued up, but somehow it didn't work out and the song didn't get started until half way through our procession. All and all things worked out pretty well and the ceremony and reception were very nice.

We had real bag pipes for our graduation, was really intense and heartfelt, not a dry eye in the house.
