Breakfast at my hotel when I went about 5 years ago was about $22 US - And that came with a 17.5% VAT tax. I stayed about 3 weeks, so we're talking $500 just for breakfast! The other meals were just as pricey at resturants, but cheaper at the little deli's (which didn't serve ice in their drinks - I wanted ice, dammit)! :D

My phone bill in one hotel ran $500 per night when I was using the internet - Not kidding, when I checked out, I had a $2500 phone bill :eek:

It was a mistake - I was on the Internet a lot, and the hotel's phone system was supposed to charge me like $5 for the 1st minute and like $.25 for each minute after that - But instead it charged me like $5 per minute flat. It took me over an hour to get that straight - But I still wound up paying over $150, if I remember right. Then my parking fee in the garage was like $375. Take busses & cabs :rolleyes:

I've lived in the UK for over a year now and The only time I have drawn down, well not the ONLY time but my first time rather I was taking a statement from some lady about some juvies acting up near the local shoppette (our 7-11) and I hear rifle fire. I was brand new and drew my pistol and got down real quick. Took me a second to reliaze it was some hunters right off base and they werent shooting at me. My reaction has to be beacuse I am originally from the west coast!

I would be there so fast, especially if airfare and lodging were thrown in!! They wouldn't even have to pay me, since by then I should have about three months of vacation time built up.
