Oh, do you guys work extra shifts on your days off?
Here we call in Voluntary Duties and they staff things like football and soccer with guys on days off. But it's only 4-5 hours at single rates and no penalties. They also use it for special events like the Formula 1 Grand Prix, festivals and concerts. Like the Red Hot Chilli Peppers . . that's the point of this post. . I'm working their concert on Wednesday. The tickets sold out in less than a hour and they're paying me to go. I like that, as you can see. :D

Sometimes if I'm up for it. It's at time and a half here.
We'd never call it "Voluntary Duties" though, because no one would ever "volunteer." As an Army brat, the first thing I learned from my old man was "Never volunteer for anything!"#17 in your program, #1 in your hearts.

If the shift is short they'll call and offer it.
I work some extra work jobs but not too many so I work maybe 3-4 of my off days per month at some sort of OTPittsburgh Pirates- 1st place NL Central 7/15/11
They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

It is compulsory to work four of your rest days where I work all at least for time and a half.

We get called in occasionally on days off. Sometimes it's for seizures or evictions, other times are for breaking news on a fugitive case. Overtime is fairly hard to get in my district.
Kazz, what is up with that font? It's giving me the dizziness (though I appreciate the effort it represents. :cool

We have multiple opportunities for off duty OT. We get time and a half for everything and a min of 2 hrs.
