Pursuit and Shooting

This happened a few years ago here (Albany, NY), but I thought it would be of interest to you. This guy ran from the police on New Years Eve and at some point tried to use his vehicle as a weapon. Officers fired and a stray hit a pedestrian, who subsequently died. There was an issue over the radios during all of this. Apparantly an assistant chief had tried to call off the pursuit, but his portable was overpowered by everybody else, and the message got out only moments before the shooting occured. It was a huge deal here locally, and I somehow found the recoding from dispatch of the whole event. Its about 15 minutes, but pretty interesting. I guess it just demonstrates how important communications equipment can be...
