We aren't required to keep a log here. I just have to testify that the radar was tested before and after the stop and found to be accurate. I test mine after every stop. I don't write 2 tickets in a row without testing it. Some guys test it at the beginning of their shift and at the end, no problems there either.

We've all seen tickets dismissed on technicalities. I've seen 2 dropped because the officer didn't write the serial number of the tuning fork he used to test the radar set. The defense lawyer asked if the radar had been calibrated by the state, which it was the records were in the court clerks office. He then asked if the tuning forks were the same as the ones that it was calibrated on. Since the officer didn't know, the judge dismissed. So every speeding ticket I write, I write the serial numbers of the tuning forks. The same lawyer tried the same arguement on me once and I had the numbers written on my copy of the ticket.

They've got us surrounded? Good. Now we can fire in any direction, those bastards wont get away this time

An amateur will train until they get it right. A professional will train until they can't get it wrong.

I do the same thing. I also write down the counting unit serial # as well as the antenna serial #. I also write down the time I tested it and what the RADAR displayed during the test.
