COPS Television Show

They were here for awhile in the late 80's and early 90's. The department had editing rights as to what was shown and COPS didn't agree because the great footage was being left out. Either they were not allowed to return or they refused to return.
It is interesting watching officers back then evolve. Then...skinny and young with mullets or some type of helmet head hairdo...now...they have grown (horizontally) and lossed their hair :D

I arrested a guy a few times who was arrested during an episode of Cops. Does that count?

Does anyone remember the COPS episode where the lady had a rat in her bathroom, and the cop tore a big hole in her bathroom door, then started shooting at the rat? :D

Someone told me that was a pellet gun that he had, but I donno... As I remember it was hard to tell if it was a pellet gun, or the sound of his real gun just overloaded the microphone. I wish I had recorded that episode so I could play it back. I've only seen it once.

I have seen that one. I agree, its tough to determine with those pellet guns. I saw one where an officer had responded to a house fire and broke a couple of windows because nobody had answered the door. Only to find out, it was the wrong house :D

Yeah, he broke more than a couple, he broke almost every pane in her picture window - Something like a dozen panes, wasn't it? They were like little seperate 9" x 9" windows, that tilted out, so it still didn't help much :D

Then when the lady finally came out, it went something like, "Oops wrong house. We'll pay for that. Come by & sign the form. Good luck!" - lol

In all honesty though, I'd probably do the same stupid stuff - The smoke being blown by the wind made it look like it was her house.
