Well I was out saturday and the night started off pretty slow as usual. A few traffic things but nothing major. That's the norm for around here, piddly minor stuff.
Around 2030 we were at the station for a bathroom break and shift commander informs us of 3 discon's on the inbound Amtrack train. No big deal right? Get them off the train no big deal... Yeah wasn't that easy...
2115 the train arrives, we go and wake up the first guy, a 50 something 300 something pound Army vet who is so drunk, he's already urinated on himself... this guy had apparently been involved in a physical confrontation with several other passengers on the train and they wanted him and the others off.
He's off and now we get to the other drunk guy involved, I think, no offence intended, this guy was slightly retarded. There's no way he was that drunk. But he was peaceful so he wasn't a problem. Here's the funny part, was born here and moved away hadn't been here for over ten years, he had a warrant in a city just over from ours. How's that for bad luck, get kicked off the train in your cross country trip in the one state that has a warrant for your arrest...
Now on the the third guy, 6' 4" (or so) and about 235, this is a decent sized guy, keep in mind I'm 5' 11" and weigh about 200. He's the sober one of the group being kicked off. On his way from the west coast to the east coast for his mother's funeral. Being kicked off this train makes him miss his mothers funeral, angry? Yeah you could say that...
Of course I, being the complete idiot I am, decided I'll stay with this guy while the others get their luggage and try to keep him calm. In his defense he never tried to get physical nor was he ever angry at me. The fat guy? This was all his fault and he was very angry at him...
That whole thing kicked off the night, and lasted about 3 hours and ended up with the fat vet being detoxed, the guy with the warrant being arrested and the big guy almost gettin tazed...
Shortly after that, a fight call comes out, we're about 2 blocks away. As soon as we pull up there's a guy running out the back door. "Dan" runs after him through the apartment and I go around the outside. I see hm go into the apartment behind and continue along out side while Dan continues after him. As I get around front I see him duck into the next door apartment I get Dan and tell him where I'm going and he follows.
I'm sure at this point he's back out of the building heading somewhere else, nope, he was in the laundry room and opened the door just as I was heading into it.
You know those decisions you make that take seconds but seem like hours when they happen? Here come's one... I hit the door just as he opens it and am greeted with a freaked out, blood covered little man.
Naturally, I paused thinking what... the... hell? I wasn't sure what this guy had on him if anything, and was about ready to grab him when Dan came through the door and this guy started spewing a story of racial slurs and a whoopin' of new's worthiness.
We walk back over to the apartment he ran from, his own of course, as soon as we walk in the door we are greeted to the lovely sight of blood. Not just a few drops, or a little puddle. No, there was blood splatter over two floors. It looked like someone had been stabbed... repeatedly...
Blood trails were running from the upstairs apartment, all over the door, into the hallway, all over the walls, down the stairs, in the foyer, all over the door down there, the walls on the main floor, splattered halfway up the walls on the main floor, all over a bike that was sitting in the hallway and into the apratment on the main floor.
And of course, noone wants to press charges...
Next, yes there's more folks, a sexual assault call comes out. Everyone's ears perk up at that one... Talk to the girl, get the vehicle description, see him driving, pull him over. Turns out he's an 18 year old Air Force kid who'd just barely gotten here.
We sit with him for nearly 2 hours while the girl goes to the hospital to be checked out. His story never changed, he was upfront about everything that happened. He met the girl on-line, she told him and his friend she was "down for anything" wink wink nudge nudge...
Of course young kids, girl willing to do that, they take her up on it. Meanwhile her story changes 3 times just on the way to the hospital... This kid says he's ready to do anything to prove his innocence, admits to (in the intrest of keeping this less than vulgar) doing things with his hands but never having sex with her. She's claiming rape, and he says he'll submit to a rape kit.
She denies the rape kit and wants to wait a day to decide what she wants to do.
Hmmm... smells fishy to me...
She finally admits that she'd been screwed over by an airman previously and he'd since pcs'd and was going to "hurt" the first airman she could... needless to say she was charged with a false report and is in a hell of alot of trouble...
All of that happened before 0200... definately a warm welcome back to patrol...
:D
