Can't carry on Campus or on the Premises? In some states such as Texas, there's a difference :D

Some college campuses around here are marked "Weapon Free Zones" which definitely makes a difference in the primary & Secondary schools, but the way I read it, those don't apply to adult college parking lots if you're licensed... They only appear to enhance the severity of weapon violations in primary & secondary schools, and don't create new violations of their own, and don't apply to adult colleges, although a gun is still off-limits in a Texas adult college building or stadium, just not in the parking lot as I read it.

Anyone with a different interpretation of what a "Weapon Free Zone" means exactly in Texas in the case of a adult college parking lot if you have a CHL? Why would they waste money on a sign that is apparently inapplicable??? Or am I missing something???

I never noticed it before, but I was poking around and used a different entrance to my school today. Lo and behold, there's a sign prohibiting guns on campus. I didn't catch the penal code, but it had one. It obviously doesn't apply to law enforcement, as we have our own pd. All of my professors this semester either are or were cops, and we even have a few cops taking the classes. No biggie.
