I have mine on March 17th, and just this week I managed to p;ut up my required weight. And I feel the cold running too. Nothing like training in lake effect snow and good ol' Pittsburgh gloomy weather. Congrats!

I just got off the phone with the LT. I have a job offer contingent on me passing all the tests. I have to:

meet with a shrink
take the psych test (the 3 hr one)
meet with a Dr
pass the background investigation
pass the entrance exam to the academy

I will be stressed until the academy PAT is done. 3.19 is the day to watch out for. It was down to me and another guy and he told me tonight that I was #1 since my first interview. 3 years of hard work and I finally have something to show for it.

On a side note - this pd has the coolest badges I've ever seen :D

Kind of a funny story too...He says that he has a couple of routes for the run and we will go to the first to see how icy it is and if it's safe to run. So we get to the finish line and starts to do the route in reverse to show it to me. He gives me way-points at each .5mi mark. The first one we get too is the final one for the actual test and it's a garage that has a Jeep Liberty out in front of it. Next is a house that is multi-colored in rainbow colors. Two pretty easy to remember locals to judge myself by and I had a stopwatch on so I knew were I needed to be. Another cool thing was that he let me use my IPod, which was VERY helpful cause I have a test playlist with songs that I know the pace is right on for me. I start with Iron Maiden's "The Legacy" which is an 8:34 min mile for me (to the beat). Very cool. Anyway, so I am going along and I think I have a good pace going but I also have a little head cold so I'm keeping an eye on my watch, did I mention it was 12* and windy? Well I get to the colored house and I'm ok and I keep going. I look at my watch to see it at about 10 min and change and I'm not seeing the garage with the Jeep out front so I'm getting worried. 11 min roles on and now I'm nervous and actually saying "holy sh&t I'm not gonna make it!" I round a corner to see the finish sign (it's a "not a through way" sign) and I kick it into overdrive. I was pooping myself cause of that damn liberty - jerk must have gone to work or something. Didn't he know I was using his car as a marker?
