This has been going on for awhile now at our department. S**t hit the fan when the mayor promoted 5 officers to the rank of Inspector and Major, "above" the rank of Captain and with brand new fully marked Tahoe take home cars. Our Chief doesn't even have a take home car. But it was in my opinion a political move as the NAACP and Apple were on his case, after a no vote of confidence in our Chief. Anyway, check out the video in the article; the union president slammed the mayor, calling him an ex-convict.

It's awful hard getting up in the morning, tying your shoes, and going to work at a place like that. Been there, done that myself. Except it involved flagrant nepotism, and a sheriff giving city management the middle finger when it the nepotism was questioned. :mad:
