    to the prof.

    Your speech was entertaining, but contained one major flaw. The States did originally have the ability to create their own laws, and the states did remain very seperated at large; but NYC isnt a state. NY is a state, and NY does not have the same driving laws as NYC, so could explain that, im at a loss myself.

    There are laws called "municiple codes," which are essentially laws passed by cities. So, you have federal law, state law, and local ordinances. Let's say that according to state law, it is legal to turn right at a red light, but a local ordinance prohibits it. Then you would be in violation of the local laws, if not necessarily state law.
    I used to care. Now I take a pill for that.
