It could possibly be a distribution block. Instead of hooking up many power wires to the battery, you have one large one then it is distributed to others. The front is possibly for the fuses. Just a guess, hae you thought about contacting the place you got the stuff from?
Why is it that all these jerkoffs seem to know about the right to remain silent, but I have yet to find one of them to actually exercise that right. -Legoate

My old Chevy Caprice cruiser had a pigtail for accessories as well. I would imagine they would have continued to utilize it for ease of installation.
Look under the dash on the driver side firewall where the floorboard meats it. On the right side there may be one similar on your Impala. I believe it to be, like stated above, a distribution block for accessories instead of tapping into another hot wire or going to the battery.

I'm going to contact fleet next Wednesday when they open back up if I can't find the numbers by then. It has a few numbers on it, the one that seems like it would mean something is EPC2, it's on it in two spots.

I think that the writing in the center is EPG, not EPC. I think the 2 is a part number or other marking, and that it's not directly related with the EPG.

I can also make out what appears to be the code PBT-GF15. Google returns lots of hits at electronics places when I search for PBT-GF15, but I don't really understand what any of it is or does.

    Good luck.

Thanks, at first glance I thought it said EPG as well, but it's definately EPC, you can't see it in the pic but it is real obvious in the other spot it's printed. The other two codes next to the connections are E-1012 and PBT-GF15 and E-1090 but both turned up way too many results on Google to be of any help to me.

    Thanks for the help!
It doesn't look like something that came from a factory because of the zip ties and the cable extentions.

I can't help ya on the cable extensions, but I've noticed a lot of electronics come zip-tied, just to keep everything neat. I'm with everyone on the lights attachment though...

If you do have any further problems, send those pics to http://www.mega-technical.com/html/index.html
These guys have the contract for the RCMP for cruiser accessories, so I'm sure they'd have a good idea exactly what it is, what part number, etc.

Looks like the fuse block we use for our radio systems in the Crown Vics. Takes those tiny plastic blade fuses.
