Our command staff consist of our chief (whois so relaxed he doesn't care what you do unless you violate the SOP), Assistant Chief/ LT. (Former state trooper whos backs us 100%), then my sergeant is more trigger happy then any of us.

    WOW.

I know for us, any shooting in the line of duty results in the usual 3 day admin leave to cool off, and an AI investigation to clear us. Other than a written statement, we don't do any paperwork on it. We get time off, and when we get back we go to our normal job again.

Well that is just small town Alabama PD's for ya. We are so short handed we dont have the man power to do it. The only time I would of had actual time off is if I connected with my shots. Then ABI (Alabama Bureau of Investigations) would of had to been called and an investigation into the shooting would begin.

Our use of force paperwork consist of a description of the force used, why it was used, what level of resistance was used to initiate our level of force and a narrative. Also any use of force observed as a witness by us, also gets the same paperwork. So the other officers working with me filled out the same paperwork.
Why is it that all these jerkoffs seem to know about the right to remain silent, but I have yet to find one of them to actually exercise that right. -Legoate
