I've been a cop for about 8 years and just recently started having this problem... I have developed a rash around my torso where my duty belt rides. It is across my front only and is roughly the width of my belt and it itches like CRAZY... I've tried hydrocortisone cream and that does't help...
Anyone ever have a problem like this and if so, did anything work for you to make it go away?

Go see your doctor. I just healed a rash. My physician called it neurodermititis. He prescribed a steroid injection and steroid cream. I had relief in 12 hours, and it completely went away in 2 weeks.

If you have an actual medical problem Gold Bond is definitely not going to help.
If you just have some chaffing from your gear the Gold Bond will probably work.
I wonder if your duty belt has gotten some bacteria in it that is migrating through your clothes to your skin? Go see a doctor.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Are they pus-filled bloody blisters that seep or are they covered with yellowish scabs? Have you noticed an increased attraction to, ahem, large women? Does your left eye seem bigger?
On a serious note, I used to get that sometimes when working motors in the summer. In a nutshell, you sweat but the sweat has nowhere to go so you get a terribly itchy general skin rash. Try changing you undershirt and your drawers midshift. And it hurts like hell but try wiping the rash with alcohol.
I almost forgot. Benadryl will take care of the itching. Be careful with it though since it will make you drowsy. Maybe take one or two before bed.Last edited by Scotsman; 12-05-06 at 01:26 AM.
