Federal Reserve is the agency that deals with physical US money, moving it from bank to bank. The FRB is also responsible for setting the interest rate on bank-to-bank loans, which in turn sets the rate the American consumer will pay for loans, credit cards, etc. Best of my knowlege (I am too lazy to look it up right now) it is an agency of the Treasury, not Justice. Actually, Brinks and Wells Fargo (Now Loomis, Fargo and Company) move the money from the Reserve to the individual area bank vaults. Not the individual branch, but the vault that will process the deposits, checks, etc. Originally Posted by Whitebear
