This makes me mad how about you?

I was standing in line at my local foods store and a soldier was standing behind me, I then herd the person behind him talking about how he is killing innocent people and acting just like the terroists did on 9/11. I thought the soldier handled it very well he just turned to her and said "Mam I can see you don't like what our government is doing right now, but I have never been to Iraq so I am not killing innocent people." I thought to myself this guy is in the military so that you can say things like that to him.

I guess it just makes me mad that someone would act like that and still call themselves a American. I just don't see why you would not appreacite(sp?) what he or all of our Armed Forces are doing for us out there. I'm not just talking about Iraq, I am talking about all over the world. I don't know it just kind of makes me mad when I witness or hear about something like this happing.

They are called liberals and they are everywhere.

They appreciate the freedoms this country offers but have no respect for the men and women who put their lives on the line to secure those freedoms for them.

Be afraid, be very afraid of the liberals.

Its messed up, but you gotta get used to it.

Once while on leave me and some friends were walking down a boardwalk. We were talking to eachother when this guy came us to us, looked us in the eyes and said "You ****tards". I looked at him, smiled and said, "Im sorry you feel that way, have a nice day". He was so pissed off because we did not let it bother us.:D

Hmmmm....even if he had been Iraq, he wouldn't be killing innocent people. Innocent people die as a result of war, but killing is not the term I would use. Perhaps the opposition that is firing from mosques, hospitals, hotels and schools should be to blame.

A buddy of mine was approached like this. (he was coming back from Bosnia)

    His answer?

"Only kill the babies ma'am, nits make lice you know. Best to get them while they are young."

I thought that woman was going to swallow her tongue.:D

Libs hate this country so much but they won't leave. They remind you of a freeloading relative that bitches, complains, and insults the very household that provides a roof over their head, but they never leave. I would donate 50% of my paycheck for a year to purchase one way tickets out of this country for these people. I'd still be getting a deal.

Not all speech is protected. If the law that was enacted by a Democrat president were reintroduced today then these people could be charged for aiding the enemy. The terrorists pay attention to people like mediawhore Sheehan and her ilk. It gives them the will to keep fighting while they wait on the cowards to vote in a liberal government.

It's the common blame game people play to justify their failures and misery in life.

Today the reason for their problems might be the government or Bush or the terrorists or whatever, tomorrow the European union or the United Nations, the disfunctional family they grew up in, the Russians, the Nazis, Chernobyl, AIDS, anthrax, chemtrails, the social services, and who knows what else.

As long as they have someone to blame they're happy.

A few years ago I had an American flag on the back of my bike. I got hassled by another cyclist for flying the flag of the country I was born in, and am proud to live in

He spouted off some nonsensical treehugging gibberish, and I reminded him that our flag is a symbol of FREEDOM.

Okay I shouldn't, but I'm gonna pipe up and get myself lambasted here. Anyway ....

I do not support the war in Iraq. What I mean by that is that I did not support the decision to go into Iraq to begin with, and when our President is admitting it's turned into a strategic and diplomatic disaster, you know it's bad. Then again Bush was a disaster period from day one (and don't take that to mean I voted for Gore or Kerry - I didn't like ANY of them). I absolutely supported the invasion of Afghanistan. That being said ....

Our soldiers are brave, courageous men and women. No matter how one feels about the military decisions made by our government, we MUST support our troops. It's okay to disagree with a war. No problem there. It is NOT okay to chastise those who stand ready to serve when called, wherever that may be. There's a line there, and too many are crossing it. When someone goes beyond non-support of the war and begins ragging on soldiers, that's where the line is crossed and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Politically I'm independent and intend to stay that way. Vote the person, not the party. The two parties we have are BOTH horrible wastes of oxygen. And when people on this board bash on liberals, I'm right with them. But I feel the EXACT same way about conservatives.

Both groups have gone so far to the extreme in either direction that they've long ago lost sight of the average American. I do not want a tree-hugging pot-smoking hippie love the world type to run this country, and I also don't want a Bible-thumping hate-mongering moron to run it either. Unfortunately, we've been stuck with one or the other WAY too damn long and this country suffers for it.

I intensely dislike both parties (Democrat-Republican) and both political spectrums (liberal-conservative) equally. Maybe a miracle will happen and soon we'll get a candidate who actually has half a brain and starts paying attention to things around here. Not the least of which is immigration. I don't want a fence running the border. I want a damn concrete wall manned by guys with big BIG guns.

    Getitdone,

There is no reason for you to be lambasted. Your opinion on the war is just that, your opinion. You are entitled to it and some will disagree with it.

Your point about some people not being able to distinguish between opposing a war and opposing individual military members is right on. Whether one supports or opposes the war, I will go so far as to say it is unpatriotic to not support the troops.

You may take some flack for your opinion and you and I will have to agree to disagree on some of these issues but you are right to express your view.

Not only did you excercise your freedom of speech, you did it in a manner that makes it hard for a conservative like me to criticize you for the way you did so. I can respect someone I completely disagree with but I can also think in some rather serious detrimental terms of someone who chooses to spew forth at the mouth in a spate of liberal gibberish.

This story is classic example of the ignorance of those who confuse their distaste of the war with the bravery and service-before-self core value of an American soldier.

Although I and my fellow Brothers and Sisters in Blue will risk our lives to protect Freedom of Speech, this is one scenario in which I would have very much enjoyed seeing that bottom-feeder's Freedom of Speech stop at the end of the Soldier's fist.

100% agree with you on that. Regardless of how one feels about any war or military action, our soldiers deserve our support.
