WTF is wrong with people... they intentionally damaged our Police Memorial...

I got this email today:

The Police Memorial at Sharon Memorial Gardens was intentionally damaged sometime between the hours of 1900 on 11/23/2006 and 0847 on 11/24/2006.

An unknown suspect drove a vehicle into the memorial and pushed it over with the vehicle’s front bumper. Primary indications are that the vehicle is a four wheel drive pickup truck or sport utility vehicle. Unfortunately no one has come forward as a witness at this time.

An employee with Sharon Memorial Gardens discovered the incident as he drove in to work this morning. A canvass of the remainder of the property did not yield any additional cases of vandalism.

Crime Scene Search responded to the scene and collected evidence that will hopefully aid in the apprehension of a suspect.

The memorial itself was pushed over by a vehicle traveling at a slow rate of speed. The granite slab was not heavily damaged, but several face plates with the names of CMPD Officers slain in the line of duty will need to be replaced.

Detectives with Burglary East are investigating the case.

Unfortunately there are and will always be people in the world that have little to no conscious. On the other hand they keep us employed. What comes around goes around. Next time it might be them being on the end of a front bumper with any luck.

Hopefully this time he gets a good destruction of property charge out of it - Be sure to get the contractor with the highest bid to fix the memorial. That may up the degree a notch.

I bet there's gonna be plenty of donated manhours in finding the guy.
