this clip is hilarious, especially when the motorist rips the ticket up and throws it out the window, and the end :D

Dude, this video has been beat to death. Good post though.

FYI-
That video is a set-up...the trooper actually got fired over it (and other instances). Good Riddance, as far as I'm concerned...
His initial approach to the vehicle wasn't recorded; he was a complete d*ck to the violator, and got him good and riled up. Then, he turned the camera on to demonstrate how calm and professional he could be when presented with an irate motorist.

We won't rest 'till we find the mutt.
You can tell that even though he is quiet, his attitude is condescending and provocative. I heard he got fired too.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
I think the driver was out of line, but the officer's verbal judo during this confrontation is piss-poor. If the rumors are true about him getting fired, I wouldn't be surprised at all.
I went to the FBINA with a supervisor from Maine SP who knew this Troop well and was familar with the situation. He said the Troop aggravated the situation before turning on the video, then after the driver was really riled up, turned on the video. He had a history of problems dealing with motorists and was eventually fired.

This was actually the focus in one of my academy classes a few years ago. Everyone was thinking "Wow, that is a calm cop" until they explained it to us. Then you even noticed his condescending tone while he was being "calm". Good video for training ;-)
I got pulled over before for speeding, in fact I got two verbal and three written warnings. My trick is, I am very respectfull to the officer and I act CLUELESS and DUMB:
The officer: you were going 50 on a 35
Me: the sign a couple of roads ago was 50, oooooooh, you mean it changed, sorry about that, I promise I'll pay attention next time :D
Works like a charm...
So, you play the fool instead of 'fessing up like a man? Take your lumps like you earned them. Hey, whatever gets you through life. Taco Bell is always hiring.
Red sent!
p.s. Inspector Clousseau, this is a PRO-cop site. Your secret is out. Just for that little admission, in case it is you, I'm going to write the next clueless, dumb, respectful person I come across.
+1
I used to think the trooper was so calm and professional, too, until it was pointed out in the academy just what an *** he was being by the tone of his voice. Now I don't view the video the same anymore.
I know that I would get annoyed by being spoken to like that by anyone, let alone by someone who was handing me what is essentially an expensive bill.
I used to care. Now I take a pill for that.
