Politicians are like diapers- they should be changed regularly, and for the same reason.
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach a person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.
9/11/01 - NEVER FORGET
"you must spread some reputation around..."
Yeah, and when the Dallas Sheriff's reserve deputies lost their insurance (so many of them refused to serve warrants, and who can blame them), she was pretty much AWOL on that issue too for a long time, preferring to take a "slow & persistent" approach. I assume that eventually got resolved since it was over a year or two ago, but it may be a bad assumption on my part. I need to ask my source whatever became of that.
And let's not forget the ranking deputy in charge of running the Dallas Katrina refugee center who, out of frustration and being dead tried after Katrina, accidentally used a non-flattering term in a private meeting about some specific Katrina evacuees he was thinking of (who probably deserved the description 100% because they were idiots) - Sheriff Valdez gives him a public beating in the press as well as diciplinary measures - What a crock.
The public had absolutely no need to know all that - It was a non-problem, because as news reports made clear, the Dallas shelters were run very well and professionally, and they brought in volunteers out the ying-yang (some of whom were my friends), who served the evacuees better than they had been served almost anywhere else in the country.

Chief Deputy Leveling didn't use an "ethnic slur", he called the Katricians "knuckle draggers" and "knee walkers" in a private staff meeting. As far as I can tell those terms do not denote ethnicity.
After he was suspended for 20 days without pay the "community reverends" lobbied for his head on a platter because they didn't think the 20 days was sufficient punishment. They want him fired.
You're right - I stand corrected!!! Changed. I had forgot exactly the term he used, but you're right... I didn't want to bring his name up again, but I've met Leveling on two occasions when he was running for Denton County Sheriff, and attended the Sheriff's debates. He is 100% professional, no B.S.
