The beatings will continue until morale improves.
We were all threatened with personnel complaints if we didn't get them done by Oct 1.
All I can say is that the study guides we had at the station helped us to complete the test REALLY FAST! ;)
I didn't know that officers nationwide were being tortured by it, too. For the last few years my department been creating God-awful training modules that we take on-line, so this just seemed to be another one.
Last week our entire department had to sit in class on one of our days off and listen to that damn NIMS class for 8 hours. We got overtime. I would rather have slept in on my day off. The only reason we had to do it I think is cause your agency loses some federal grant money if a certain percentage of your agency does not complete it. It sucked.
I had to take it and I'm not even sworn. Thankfully it was online so I learned you could skip to the end, print out the test and then go through the study guide and answer the questions. I tried to actually do it at first but by the third "video" I wanted to set fire to my desk.
The facilities part was interesting.....there's the camp, base, incident command post, staging area, not-so-ready staging area, listening post, observation tower and check point charlie....all of which do the same thing.
"Cheshire Puss," she began, rather timidly... "Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?"
"That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat.
"I don't much care where..." said Alice.
"Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat.
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
I did 100 & 700 in the academy as part of standard course training. Once I graduated and got back to my department we had to do 800. It's all quite interesting. Some of it is practical, some isn't. It all depends on the level and scale of the situation. In the end I'll just follow whatever direction my SGT or Lt. tells me to do.
I did what Welpe did for 800. That was skip to the end, print out the test and then look up the answers. Saved about 3 hours of headache time. Though, some of the questions were really hard to reference in the documentation that came along with the course.
