WOW, did we get dumped on last night..... As many of you know yesterday it started snowing in the Buffalo area. I live in the burbs. Well things went from good to "SUCKS", about 10 pm last night. It took my wife about 3 hours to get home from work. A normal trip takes about 25 minutes. We lost power about 11 PM. When I woke-up this mornig we had over 24" of snow on the ground, no power. The only thing we had was heat from the gas fire place, lucky for us.
Many of the trees, shrubs, power lines, etc were trashed because of the heavy wet snow. Power is out for over 300.000 Western New Yorkers. We're lucky, our power was back on about 9:45 PM, tonight which was a total shock. The news was reporting that power might not be back until Sunday or Monday. I guess we're lucky, there are still lots of people without power. We also have to boil our water for the next several days because the water treatment facility went down. I guess we're pretty lucky to still be here and the house is still standing!!!!

I saw that on the news. I suppose it's just because I've lived on the coast my entire life and I'm just used to them, but, I will take a hurricane anyday over that (Category 3 or less of course).
