Talk about having to make a split second decision! So let me get this straight...police respond to a shooting call...they arrive on scene, and witnesses yell at the cops at who it is, as he's running by...they give chase...
Ummm...I'm struggling here with why the cop pulled his taser out instead of his gun...it was hard to see, but didn't the guy have the gun in his hand when he ran by? Luckily, it all worked out. That sounds like pretty much the case...kind of dumb of the criminal to come at the police waving a gun...most would run the other way. No one said criminals were smart though. :D

I don't know about that...all the training officers get...muscle memory has to come to play when grabbing for your gun. And I wear my taser on my right leg (I'm left handed). I just do a cross-draw to get it. Originally Posted by scarlet_tunic

Yeah that was weird how that all played out. In any event, we have all been dropped right in the middle of a S&**T pile of chaos....much like that, and nothing goes according to plan!!

Somewhere on Break they said the incident occurred in Alaska (unconfirmed, of course). If that truly in the case, it could very well be 2:30 am, since the sun never truly sets at the peak of summer (end of June-start of July), since that part of the world is the closest to the sun for that couple of weeks. Correction... that part of the world (northern polar region) is tilted towards the sun, making 24-hour daylight, they are actually in aphelion (farthest from the sun in orbit). :D Originally Posted by scarlet_tunic

I do believe his dash cam had the wrong time. I thought the officer had his weapon in his hand at first But my old eyes could be wrong and seeing things at 0500 hours. Glad that back up was near when the officer turned his back on the subject. Excellant training video on what not to do when arresting a armed or possibly armed suspect.
