Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
IN VALOR THERE IS HOPE.................................................. ............NEVER FORGET!
As long as people show valor in their actions to protect others, there will be hope for our society. ~Valor55
To me it looked like the officer had his hand on his gun as he approached, drew the gun, and when the bad guy took off, he went to holster the gun and go for the tazer. As they run towards the police car, you can see the officer's left hand going for his holster on his left leg (presumably the Tazer), and it looked like he was moving to holster the gun on the right side.
I think he completed the switch when they went behind the police car and the camera looked away for a second. Since he was saying the bad guy pitched the gun in the trash, maybe he assumed that the bad guy was then unarmed, and made the switch? Just a guess from what I saw.
Okay Jay7376 you got me on the dash cam thing! Now that my mind is with me again you are correct it could be one of those COP shows.
KITT was a cool car Cinnamon, wish I had one. Cinnamon, I bet you watched Bay Watch just to see Hasselhoff strut his stuff on the beach.:D
MDEMT280, I do believe that is what I saw also but at 0500 and after doing enough paper work to kill the rain forrest my eyes could have been playing tricks on me.
Definition of a veteran:
A veteran is someone who, at one point in his/her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life."
That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.

Don't be over confident in the taser. He had a heavy coat on and while it worked could have been one inch or so that could cause it to stop working. You can hear it not working the second time he uses it yelling "put your hands behind your back". The taser is very loud then. Loud = no connection. Bad idea to turn his back ever. Not saying I haven't made mistakes. I turned my head to see where my backup was once and got hit with a bottle on the head. Just saying don't rely on the taser 100%

Another totally inappropriate use of force. The tazer should not have been deployed, especially for the beginning of this when the officer was alone.
If they ever give me one of those pieces of garbage, it's going in the bottom of my gear bag.

The beatings will continue until morale improves.
Why on earth would you think and do that?
The officer yelled he threw the gun over there which leads me to believe he sw him throw it. No longer deadly force issue then. The taser worked. His tactics worked. Don't dis the taser. It is a wonderful tool to add to our belt. Maybe he knew he had lethal cover so he deployed the taser to try and not shoot the guy.
Would have you just kept running after him or shot him?
