Black and White patrol cars

In my daily movement of delivering mail, I have noticed Hollywood Fl PD now have some black and white cars. I did also noticed the city of Miramar also with a few black and white cars. I was puzzled, so I asked, what is going on, what was the city of Hollywood thinking? What, are they trying to run OJ Simpson out of town? I spoke to an officer from Miramar and she, yes SHE- you go girl!, told me that it is something alot of departments are going to do. How true is that? I personally don't like it. It looks too TJ Hookerish, too hollywood, I guess I am use to the all white. What do you think?

Kind of a traditional scheme..............we have blue and white scheme here.

Our sheriff's department has added some black-and-whites to its all-white fleet. They look pretty sharp in my opinion.

we have navy in my town but the navy gets darker and darker every two years, i wouldnt be surprised if they eventually went to all black or black and white

Our cars have been blue and white, but we have recently begun phasing in a new black and white paint scheme. The consensus is that it looks more authoritative and professional.

i think it would be easier to identify too, epsecially for people driving through multiple states.

The agencies in my area went back to black and whites from the whites they had been. Seems the residents would call and say they never saw an officer in their area, even though records indicated they were patrolling through there regularly. B&W being the traditional colours, I guess the cars stand out better.

Still, it is really wierd seeing a B&W go through. Maricopa County Sheriff is bucking the trend (go Joe Arpaio) and going all black. Got to be a great car to get into in 122 degree heat. (That having been said, MCSO is actually an agency I am considering testing for)

They also changed the lightbar from a Code 3 MX7000 to a low-profile LED lightbar.

Elk Grove PD and possibly Rancho Cordova PD have also gone to black-and-white. Their new look is 100% better in my opinion.

I actually like the new look...I read in the paper that the reason behind it was something about people not being able to tell if they were Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie etc. :rolleyes: so they decided to switch it up a bit.

SLO Sheriff has a similar setup and it looks slick.

Apparentlly the "black & white" is too intimidating for this city....

All of my city's marked cars are black and white. I think we have the best looking paint scheme around here (sorry Roger Dat). Of course once you get up close to them you see that most of our cars are beat to death Impalas with bald tires. Should be fun when we do EVOC at the academy.

I wish we had black and whites, but apparently "they cost too much".
