I was riding with a friend the other night and we were stuck in traffic on the freeway for about 10 minutes. We finally came up on the cause of the traffic jam. It was a 2-car accident in the number 1 lane.
A CHP officer who was on foot stopped traffic with his flashlight so he could cross the freeway to the right shoulder. Some dumbass in a full-size white van kept going, headed straight for the officer. He strobed his flashlight and waved his arms, yelling "Hey, I'm right here!" . The van finally stopped.
The officer did what he had to do and let traffic go. Unfortunately, there wasn't another officer nearby to pull the idiot over and find out what his problem was (drunk, high, phone stuck to his ear?).
I am just glad that the officer wasn't hit.
By now I'm sure most of you know what DWHUA stands for ;)

I see people drive around and thru flare patterns, cones, and officers directing traffic all the time, and then look "shocked" that I'm screaming at them.
The HUA drivers seem to think that flares, cones, etc only apply to other people, because they "just live right there" or whatever their lame excuse is. :rolleyes:
They get a fat ticket from me whenever possible.
