Whooo hoooo! Finished up EVOC today. 7 more days of class until I'm done with the academy, get sworn in, and start my FTO. Our class did pretty good. Out of 31 people, we only lost 4 to EVOC which is better then the average for EVOC instructed at GPSTC. /ramble off

Must be nice! Do you guys do in service refreshers for EVOC? While I was at GPSTC I heard one of the instructors saying that they are in the process of making it mandatory to do an EVOC refresher course every 2 years.

well yes and no, its inservice and it's driving but it's not the same thing you do in the academy. More 'high speed' stuff, litterally.

Thats right......been years since I did evoc course..
And we offer very little (none) refresher training in that.....wish we did. New folks are tearing cars up left and right.

Our academy in TN also has a strip of blacktop lined with sprinklers. They get it good and wet and disable the ABS out of the CV's to get the hydroplane effect. It's fun to watch some people totally lose it and do a 180.;)

yeah, the evoc course in ga consists of class time, a skid pan, an emergency braking course, and a small cone course.
