Can any of our LA members confirm this?

    LINK

The LA County Gun Task Force has served another search warrant on the home of another member of the fifty caliber community. On Monday September 18th, eighteen police cars swarmed the neighborhood where the FCSA member lives and served a search warrant signed by Judge Steven Kleifield of the LA County Superior Court. The officers were at the residence for several hours and confiscated all semi-automatic firearms belonging to the victim.

The probable cause for issuing the search warrant was not available in the body of the affidavit so the reason for the search is unknown at this time. It should be noted the LA Gun Task Force used "High Risk" entry tactics by sending a SWAT Entry team to make the initial entry into the victim's residence. Gun owners in LA County need to be prepared to expect these kinds of entry tactics and respond to commands from any officers if you are contacted.

FCI wants everyone to be aware that the LA County Gun Task Force is lead by agents from BATFE; LAPD and LASO. They appear to have focused their attention on members of the fifty caliber community and are aggressively trying to arrest law abiding citizens for just being "Gun Owners".

In the situation that occurred this past Monday the victim had his entire firearms collection seized and he was told charges are going to be filed because he had in his possession linked ammunition in quantities of more than 10 rounds of ammunition at a time. This has been interpreted as a violation of the "High Capacity Magazine" portion of the Assault Weapons Act in CA. The victim owns a Semi-auto M2; a semi-auto M3 and a 30 caliber semi-auto 1919 This is bull****!

Everyone living in California needs to pay attention to what is happening in Los Angeles. This can happen to you simply because someone who knows about your firearms calls the LA Gun Task Force and gives them information they interpret as a violation of the Draconian Gun Laws they have been passing for the last five years.

We are asking everyone to review what you have in your gun safe or workshop. Take the time to find out what is against the law and what is not. Remember, our first reported incident was over a flash hider on an M-1A and some armor piercing projectiles. Don't let this happen to YOU.

We are not able to identify the person involved in the incident on Monday or give you any more info about the circumstances about what occurred at this time. We will advise and update as we can.

I'm not in California, so I cannot comment on this particular incident, however, if a judge issued a valid warrant, then I won't fault law enforcement for serving it. I damn sure am not bothered by their use of a SWAT team to execute it, as they'd have to be stupid to NOT resort to high-risk tactics when dealing with KNOWN armed individuals.

As far as the legality of the whole thing, I'm not knowledgeable enough on gun law to comment on it. I would assume, however, that any arrest had to be subsequently upheld by a magistrate or judge, unless they do things very differently than where I am.

I agree with 12 volt and I also think that there needs to be a limit as to what people posses, I mean what do people need 100's of guns for with high powered rounds etc. I know people collect guns and such but all it takes is a burglary and then these guns will be used in other crimes. I am not against people carrying responsibly just going nuts with firearms etc. Just my opinion.

How many 50-caliber rifles have been used to hold up a 7-11?

And he probably had all that stuff in a safe - It'd be much easier to break into some police weapons rooms I've seen than to break into or steal a 1,000 pound safe.

And don't forget the U.S, Constution doesn't mention a magazine capacity limit.

But it does mention that public authorities who do not enforce the constitution should no longer be public authorities - That goes for the President of the U.S., judges, mayors, right down to police chiefs and officers - ANY sworn official.

"Shall not be infringed" covers it pretty well. It's about time some major players got their wings clipped over stuff like this.

What if my house gets burglarized, and they take my guns and my car. Then what if they get in a high speed pursiut and kill a pedestrian with my car? Do you want to take my car from me too?

Obviously I'm making a point. However, in regards to the 50 cal club, I know some officers who beloong to a 50 cal shooting club (I don't know if it is the same one), so I don't think people are being targeted just because they own 50 cals.

However, that being said, as a displaced midwestener I do think CA's gun laws are misdirected.

I haven't heard anything specific on the incident but I wouldn't be surprised if there was much more to the story. Not everyone who owns guns is on the up and up...

Am I missing something??? Why does the article refer to the person who had their house searched with a lawful warrant as a victim??? Usually they are suspects.

I mean if you don't know the police's probable cause then you would have to assume the police were serving the warrant on a suspect, wouldn't you???

Also, are they liberal because the are complaining the police have too much power or are they conservative to the point where they think automatic weapons should be handed out with driver's licenses? I didn't think you could have it both ways...apparently....I am wrong.
Integrity is doing the right thing even when people aren't looking.

Consider me one more gun nut since I have around 40 or so myself. I use three for my policing duties and all the others are for when I go out gang banging on the drive bys. By the way, I also have three cars, a motorcycle and a boat.

on a more serious note, though, we lost one of our deputies (killed in the line of duty) while responding to an ATF "operation" (I use that term very loosely because it was a cluster F from before GO) gone bad a few years ago - serving the same type of warrant

Deputy Jake Kuredjian - Stevenson Ranch shooting - suspect James Allen Beck
