No, switchblades aren't Class 3- they don't stab on automatic.

And keeping liberals in mind, we probably shouldn't talk about knives too much. Once it dawns on them that knives are quiet, they'll list them under suppressed weapon statutes.

As an aside, isn't GB trying to outlaw knives?

Yeah, the more I read about different laws in FL, the more I realize what a @%$#ed up state this is. For instance, anyone can carry a firearm (without any permit) in their vehicle as long as they are over 18 years of age. And one of the places concealed weapons are not allowed is on college campuses...unless you are an active student of that college!

Oh knives have been on the naughty list for a LONG time now, you can carry a folding pocket knife so long as the cutting edge isn't over 3" in length.

That's an 18 year old bit of law already, I've highlighted the most important defences which might allow carry of blades not fitting the folding pocket knife description. Possession/Sale/Purchase/Advertising of knives is covered further by The Restriction of Offensive Weapons Act 1959 (which bans switchblades), The Knives Act 1997 (imaginatively named I think you'll agree) and The Offensive Weapons Act 1996.

The legislation distinguishes between people carrying relatively inoffensive knives (Points and Blades) to a huge gleaming broadsword (Offensive Weapons) - interestingly if caught with a sword in public as long as it's not concealed and you can prove that you are at least a level 3 sorcerer and virgin there's nothing we can do :(

Next we plan to carefully regulate the use of air, we've noticed that a lot of criminals are able to facilitate their crimes as they are allowed access to air - a loophole that needs closing ASAP ;)

I think that would be ok.. Because the statute only says concealed weapons require permits.. Open carry of firearms is prohibited though in a seperate statute. However, open carry of knives isn't. In which case you wouldn't need a permit..

I find the firearm law humorous in a sick kind of way.. Can't buy a handgun, or handgun ammunition until you are 21 years of age, and can't carry it concealed with a permit until you are 21.. However, You can carry a handgun concealed within a motor vehicle if you're age 18 and up, and not forbidden from owning a firearm.

    I love that sarcasm.

You would have to wonder at what point they will stop trying to legislate safety at the expense of the individual rights.

Don't you guys already have to pay for air, since receiving tv signals without having a tv license is illegal?
